This web-based course focuses on going directly to the original founding documents using the classical learning methods employed by the founding fathers. Each lesson should take about two weeks to maintain continuity. There are essentially a matrix of six founding documents containing the basic principles of liberty. Each student will need to obtain a set of documents contained in the Statesman Collection before starting the course. As you understand the founding principles, you will begin to apply them to current issues and teach these principles to others. The best way to learn a subject is to teach it; at the end of this course you will be challenged to start your own classes and forums teaching constitutional principles. The set of lessons are listed below. These lessons are abbreviated (some of the assignments in the book are skipped) in order to make it more manageable for most students. Serious students are encouraged to do all of the assignments for further enrichment. A suggested deadline for completion is provided at the end each lesson. Students are encouraged to e-mail each completed assignment for feedback. At the end of this learning adventure, you will be challenged to become a true statesman by engaging in public service by participating in local government.
